Beaverton to Lincoln City course

I use to do that ride, but always went to beaver then down 101. Great ride! barely any cars at all, I think one time I had no traffic from yamhill until I hit 101.

There is a bit of gravel, but it wasn't bad at all when I use to ride like that .... 15/20 years ago.

Thanks again.

I am riding out to Lincoln City next weekend. I've mapped a course and would like to get some feedback on it. I have ridden up to mile 60 of it, but beyond that I'm not sure about the roads. Any comments are appreciated.

I took this route about a month ago:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=13785+NW+Greenwood+Dr,+Portland,+OR+97229&daddr=lincoln+city,+or&hl=en&geocode=%3BFdQBrgIdHaOb-Cl3vXYLdo3qVDFi6Cx9ag5TcQ&mra=ls&dirflg=b&sll=45.228065,-123.39964&sspn=1.37727,1.919861&ie=UTF8&ll=45.259422,-123.417664&spn=1.37652,1.919861&t=h&z=9&lci=bike

I think it had about 8 miles of gravel but it was pretty okay. 18 is not
sketchy but it had some rough headwinds and boring highway like conditions.
The route above takes you off 18 every chance it gets but I cut some time by
just staying on 18 once I finally got there.

If hwy 18 is sketchy, I might remap this and go to Beaver then 101 to
Lincoln City. If you have an opinion, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks again.

I am riding out to Lincoln City next weekend. I've mapped a course and would
like to get some feedback on it. I have ridden up to mile 60 of it, but
beyond that I'm not sure about the roads. Any comments are appreciated.
