Hi everyone!

*A BIG thanks to those who have already volunteered.* We appreciate it so
much. Please look below for the open positions that I still have.

It’s quickly become that time of year where I’m looking for people to
volunteer for the High Desert Omnium 2010. It takes volunteers like you to
make it happen! It is a two day, three event road bike race held on
Saturday, July 10th and Sunday, July 11th.

The feedback from racers in the past few years about this race has been
amazing. Much of it has to do with enthusiastic and friendly volunteers!

The most difficult positions to fill are the lead and support cars. If you
have biking experience, we could use you as a support car driver. For lead
cars, you don’t necessarily need to have done before. No experience
necessary for the other positions. I’ll send out detailed instructions for
all positions prior to the race.

following:

· *Registration – *Sunday, road race – 2 positions

· *Corner Marshalls – *Saturday, Criterium – 2 positions includes
lunch

· *Lead Cars –*Sunday, Road Race, 5 positions - includes $40 and
lunch* *

· *Support Cars – *Sunday, Road Race, 4 positions - includes $40 and
lunch**

I know that there are many volunteer opportunities this time of year. We
appreciate any help you can provide. If you are interested or have more
questions on a particular position, please let me know. If you are

The High Desert Omnium is a two day, three event (Criterium, Time Trial and
Road Race) race. It is part of OBRA so racers qualify for points for their
overall rankings. The Bend Bellas pride ourselves in running a very smooth
event. We often receive comments from racers that it is the most enjoyable
/ best organized event for them. The Bellas think of all the little
details. In 2009, we had over 400 racers mostly from Oregon but also
Washington and California. We expect to exceed those numbers this year. We
also are very proud that the womens field is a good size.

Proceeds from the race goes to the Bend Bella Cycling Club, 10% to Sara
Fisher Breast Cancer Project and 10% to Saving Grace, and two full
scholarships for two Bend Bellas to attend the Sugoi Bike Series mountain
bike camp.

We are a women’s cycling club in Bend. 2010 marks our five year
anniversary. Our mission is to provide Central Oregon women with a safe,
enjoyable, community-based and supported cycling club. We will strive to
enhance women’s confidence, knowledge and skills through club camaraderie,
clinics, weekly rides, tours, races and a healthy lifestyle. We are
committed to the lifelong cycling journey.
