Hello Everyone!

My name is Sierra Reid and I am a rising senior at Westview High School in
Portland. I am currently working on a service project that focuses on helmet
safety. I have ridden my bike for over 10 years and I know the importance of
owning a correctly fitted helmet.  For my project, I am going to be checking and
fitting helmets at the July 12th and July 19th Portland Short Track Races. I
will have a table over by the bleachers and registration area. Bruce Buffington,
the Director of the NW Bike Safety Council, will also be there to help fit
helmets. I will have fliers available in both English and Spanish that have
information on how to correctly fit your helmet. Along with fitting helmets, I
am also collecting NEW bike helmets that will be given to the NW Bike Safety
Council and distributed to kids who need them. If you want to make a donation
but don't want to go buy a new helmet, I will also be accepting money donations
that will be given to the NW Bike Safety Council to purchase new helmets. If you
are participating in the road race at PIR please come over and visit the table.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Thank you so much and have a great race on Monday!
