A PIR Bone to Pick

Well said Heather. There was a great deal of bone-headedness out there last night. Why, I have NO idea.

As the chief ref for Mon PIR, Heather is correct. I know it happened as at
the finish the field was consuming the ladies at their finish.

I don't want to hear this complaint again so please play by the rules and
extend courtesy to other riders,

thanks

Alright, I"m going to say this as nicely as I can.

Those of you that know me know that I'm not spooked easily. There were some
moves tonight that were either unsafe, rude, or just plain dumb. I know for
sure that the last was from the 1/2/3 group. Not sure about the other two.

1. If you are in a group of 3 and you are overtaking a group of 18, do not
yell "neutral." We do not need to neutralize for you. You going faster does
not make you more important. You are smaller and can easily overtake us
safely. All you need to do to notify us by yelling where you are "on
left/right..."

2. If you are a group of 1 (yes one) and you are overtaking a group of 18
and this group of 18 is already riding along the backside wall (wall on the
right), you should probably overtake the group on their... left. Again, you
going faster, does not make you more important enough that you yell to us
"move left" so that you take the 6 ft. gap. REALLY? Yes, that was me that
yelled that to you. You have most of the entire track to come around. That's
just dangerous for us, dangerous for you, and I"m sure we caused you to slow
down a little, being swarmed in the mix.

3. SPEAKING OF SWARM...
Let's say you are coming up the front straight and the wind in slapping you
in the face, and you think, "crap, I really wish this guy would get off my
ass..." Do NOT use another group to snap others off your wheel. Coming
around the front of our pack tonight, then making a quick slide, moving over
3 lanes in front of us is not OK. I"m sure it worked a little for you, since
chopping someone will certainly get that guy off your ass, but again...
dumb, and unsafe. Oh and guess what? It was our final sprint. Maybe you can
hold a line and just go straight next time. And really, if you wanted to
really screw the guys behind you in the front tonight, hugging the outside
wall cut the draft better for you. Sheesh.
