Thanks to everyone who contacted me after my race on Monday and urged me to stay in the Singlespeed Zoo through the end of the short-track series.
Thanks also to the race organizer who mentioned the possibility of catting down to Beginners for the final three races. Your comment were offered in a good, helpful spirit and they were taken that way too.
I am sore and bruised after my crash (I hope the fellow I collided with on the tabletop is ok) but feeling good and ready to join in the mayhem again next week.
Finally -- LADIES! If you are racing in another category on your Singlespeed bike: this is your final invitation to come play with the crazy ladies in the new Womens' Singlespeed category at Short-track racing at PIR. Our race is at 6:30, and I can guarantee you that there are fewer geared bikes, many more singlespeeds and LOTS of crazy fun. Every women who joins the category sends me farther down the weekly standings and as long as that means the category is growing I don't mind. I want to see at least a DOZEN women in the category by closing night of the series on August 2. (Fifteen would send me over the moon.)
Singlespeed rules. Come find out why.
