Save the date! More info to come as details get ironed out. A webpage is currently being built and it will have everything on it when it's launched. It should be up within a couple of days. I just wanted to start getting the word out. I just posted this on OBRA Chat, but others on our committee recommended I post it here, too.

August 28th, 2010
White Salmon City Park, White Salmon, WA
Ride begins at 9am
There will be a registration fee for all participants, and opportunities to sponsor a rider. More info to come on this, too...

30 mile road ride to benefit Jack Toland in beautiful White Salmon. Jack is a resident of Tualatin, a former local racer with Fred Meyer Cycling Team, and worked as GM at Lakeside Bikes in Lake Oswego for several years. The day before Thanksgiving (2009), he was badly injured in a cycling accident breaking his femur and elbow.

A newly formed non profit, Friends of Jack, is putting together this inaugural event, Amici Di Giacomo, that hopes to become a foundation to benefit any cyclist who has been injured in a cycling accident, and is without insurance or under-insured. This year we are riding for Jack. Next year? There will always be another "Jack" who needs our help.

Pre and post ride fuel included ( Everybody's Brewing, Fred Meyer, Chiquita, Izze Soda, Pom Wonderful, Naked Juice) , live music from Bedhead, raffle prizes and silent auction follow the ride in White Salmon City Park. Any and all donations to sponsor a rider or for silent auction / raffle prizes will be tax deductible.

Stay tuned and thanks for reading.
