This past week I met a gal in her early 20's looking to get into cycling. She lives in the Tualatin area and is looking for a bicycle and a group to ride with. I live in Roseburg, so I'm not familiar with the Portland scene.
Does anyone know of a good group of cyclists that caters to beginners for her to hook up with?
How about a reputable bike shop that will help her get what she needs (not what they want to sell her)?
Anyone with a used bike in good condition they'd be willing to sell for a reasonable price? (I think she needs to find something for under $400 or $500.) In talking with her, she's looking for something comfortable that she can grow into a bit. She's not interested in racing, she just wants to get out and ride.
I'd appreciate any info the Portland folks could give me so I can pass it along to her.
