To second Steve's comments...I agree that it is so much fun and supportive. I introduced our Canadian cousins and Colorado contingent to McMenamins last night and the spirit of the Alpenrose Challenge came up in conversation. I get used to our local group and take for granted at times, how supportive, friendly, and welcoming our community is. It was great to hear others praise our community. They come to the AVC because of all of these things. They come because it's fun, they come because the crowd is great, they come because it's friendly. One rider joked that it took them 15 minutes to walk to their car parked behind the track, because they were stopped along the way by many folks who wanted to introduce themselves, congratulate them, or in general, just wanted to be a good neighbor. The spirit is contagious and very positive.Charlie did an excellent job of picking up this fun event. Thank you to all the officials, volunteers, announcers, and FANS! I love the crowd. Thank you to everyone up in the stands. We hear you. We know you're there. We feel your vibes. We love it!-Heather VanValkenburg Does this bike make my butt look fast?

Many thanks to all the people who worked so hard to put on the AVC.
It is a great event that is so much fun to ride. At times it is hard
to figure out whether I am have more fun riding or just seeing so
many other people who are having such a good time racing their bikes.
Either way, just wanted to thank all those people who worked so hard
to put on a great event.
Steve Brown
I second that!

Nate and all of OBRA, here is another way to look at it.
Candi and Mike work all year to make sure all of OUR events go off without a hitch.
They support us all year.
We should ALL support them in this event of theirs. They work hard at it, it is a fantastic race and they deserve our support.

Wow! The track was sure beautiful this weekend! What a great setting for some spectacular racing. It all looked immaculate, from the world class racing to the smooth surface of the track itself (man, I could eat my dinner off that surface, it looked so clean!!).
-- much thanks to the dedication of all involved for such a lavish scene.

It's time to round up some volunteers for the Alpenrose Challenge.
I am looking for one or two people to help on Thursday night with general
"get it ready" kinds of things, and then I need a whole bunch of you on
Friday. None of the jobs are difficult, and everyone will get to see some
great racing. If you don't work on Fridays, or happen to have the 19th off,
I would really appreciate you stepping up to help that day.
Saturday and Sunday are looking good, but I could use some back up those
days as well.
If you can help - please help - call or email me.
