Ron and Dorothy Strasser
So this looks like day after tomorrow is an off road race day in the Portland Metro Area. A chance for Mountain Bike and Cyclocross racers (a cross bike will for sure work on this course) to show Westview High School Administration and the athletic teams that bike racers can come in, use the facility and grounds in a manner that supports them, good sportsman(woman)ship and offers a positive alternative to the regular list of athletic offerings for teens. An athletic activity they can continue into their mature years. You do not see many 50 year old football, soccer, basketball or baseball players.... but many people still ride and race at that fine age. The course will be fast! There will be some gravel, grass and some sections in a field that will really make us work. Should be fun and a chance to support our sport and hopefully make it look more attractive in one of the larger school districts (Beaverton) in the state. For the stronger riders on the East side of West hills, it is close enough in that a great warm-up ride would be to come up over hills to school. It is on 185th between Sunset Hwy and West Union Rd. Great way to keep your form for the PIR final race.
