We are just a few pedal strokes away from the all-new
Providence Rose Pedal festival, in Portland, August
3rd through 11th!
And it's not too late for volunteers from your
organization to get on board and raise money for your
group.
The Providence Rose Pedal is a non-competitive,
family-oriented bicycle festival - a whole week of
cycling events including:
8/4 Joy Rides- ride to Washington Park free admission
to Portland Children's Museum, Zoo, or World Forestry
Center, when you
8/5 Bike Me Out to the Ball Game- free entry to PGE
Park when you bike
8/6 Bike to Japan- free admission to Art Museum
8/7 Books & Bikes Neighborhood Rides- historical tour
of your local neighborhood
8/8 Bike-In Movie- movie and concert at Laurelhurst
Park
8/9 Rose Pedal Twilight Criterium Races- view live
bike racing as it returns to downtown Portland
The Rose Pedal is more than just a great festival. The
week's events raise funds to help the Bicycle
Transportation Alliance make our neighborhoods and
communities safer for cyclists of all ages.
The Rose Pedal also offers 9 days of events that YOUR
organization, business or community group can use to
raise funds for your work or another good cause, do
outreach into the community, and support efforts to
make Oregon's neighborhoods and communities safer for
cyclists of all ages.
Here's how it works:
1. Your organization commits to bringing 15 volunteers
to staff an event and receives $300 to support your
organization's endeavors. Volunteers must be 16 years
or older or accompanied by an adult. Providence Rose
Pedal will pay $300 to your organization, plus $20 for
each volunteer above the 15 person minimum. Each
volunteer will also receive a handsome event t-shirt.
OR
2. Individuals who choose to volunteer on their own
steam will earn a voucher for a free Providence Bridge
Pedal entry ($15-19 in value) as well as a t-shirt..
The future of Providence Rose Pedal as a signature
event for the City, and a significant fundraiser for
BTA, depends on the success of the event - and we need
your help to make it a fabulous first year!
The detailed opportunities are below - take a look and
give us a call if you'd like to work together. We look
forward to hearing from you!
