I know it's late, but I'm considering flying back to S.C. for the junior
nationals at the end of the month. Probably too late to get my United
vouchers in the mail, and I also don't have a hard travel case for my son's
bike. If anyone has a travel case I can borrow for the trip, and/or if
anyone has two one-way USCF/United Airlines vouchers I could use (I'll give
you mine from USCF in return if there are any left), please let me know. I
could pick up the case when I'm in Parkdale on the 28th, or maybe the Humbug
this Saturday. I wasn't considering the trip, but airfares from Portland to
Atlanta (2-hr drive) are down to $198 RT, so it could be an affordable trip.
Plus, the way things are going at USA Cycling, we may not see a junior
national out here for a long time.

It's final the new and improved VW/TREK 2002 Oregon Mt Bike Championships
will be Aug 10 in Oakridge....I will do a flyer mailing in the next couple
of
weeks and have flyers at the Cascade FTF in Oakridge July 13-14.
Speaking of that event....THERE IS A XC RACE THAT IS PART OF THE SERIES ON
JULY 14...the town is going out of their way to make bike racers and riders
welcome, so I hope as many of you as possible will come. If this year draws
good they have said they will send more $$ next year. Speaking of next
year...next year the Cascade Cream Puff 100 and the Cascase Fat Tire
Festival
will be teaming up for back to back weekends of racing with fun activites
all
week long....we may throw in a 12 hour or 50 mile too that week...should be
great.
The more people they see this year the more grant money we can get for next
year.
Tell everyone with kids I would like to get 50 kids at the Cascade FTF kids
race...there will be a special flat single track about 1 and 2 miles kids
race for kids that want a little more than the normal kids races. Plus all
the events we ran out of time for at Shotgun one....Huffy Toss, Wheelie
Contest, Fastest Flat change, Bunny Hop, ect...

RACE!
So I really hope to see you all in Oakridge both dates.
I really want to make this the prime NW Mt. Bike event.
