A good friend of mine, Craig Olsson, is in Emanuel hospital recovering from a bike crash that left him with a broken collar bone, eight cracked ribs, a punctured lung and a concussion. He was found on the road unconscious and remained that way for nearly two hours. The crash occurred Sunday on Cornell Road when a motorist attempted a rapid U-turn directly in him. At this point, the motorist remains unidentified.



Craig was training for Cycle Oregon which was fairly ambitious considering he just got over a prolonged injury to the Achilles tendon. Needless to say, he is depressed and starting to wonder if cycling is worth it. Craig has a great love for cycling and significant potential as well and I would like to help him through this. I know many of you in OBRA land have had set backs and injuries of this type. I would like to find a way to cheer Craig up, so If you could offer any words of encouragement or have any suggestions for dealing with this, please email me and I will share them with Craig to try to steer him back on to the pace line.
