Tomorrow is the second Salem Short track race so come out and mix it up. The first race showed us that cross bikes and mountain bikes are equal and this course. Some spots favor CX some MTB.

We will be offering on site at registration a series pass for the remaining 3 races. Ask at registration for more details.

As always the Kiddie and Juniors race for free so bring the whole family out. Your chances to get some high end fitness before CX starts are running out! So see you tomorrow.

Cross is just around the corner with races ready to kick off in
September so it's time to start doing some high intensity work or just
take advantage of some of the last Mountain bike racing of the year.
The Salem Short Track Series which runs July 30, August 6, 13, and 20 will
help you fine tune your racing engine.

If you have never raced this series before the Salem Short Track is a
combination of a BMX pump track, tight twisty trail, wide open
pavement and hard pack dirt sections. Don't have a mountain bike? No problem, cross bikes are just as effective (more so in places).

For younger racers this is a
great venue to gain experience, and all Juniors (kiddie racers too)
race for FREE!

New for 2012, we will be racing on a newly completed BMX pump track. Additionally we are offering a team discount to teams who bring 3 or more racers to the event and it's $15 instead of the $20 day of fee.

More information can be found at http://www.buylocalcycling.com/stxc2012/ orcontact me directly at 503-984-3855 or dustym79@hotmail.com

Hope to see you out there soon.

The first Salem Short Track race is in the books and all involved had a blast. Results are posted on the OBRA Results site. Big thanks to the Sponsor's METAFILTER, Joy Ride Indoor Cycling, and Fox Blue Printing Company who make this event possible.

We hope to see more of you out next Monday to rip around our super fast course. The first week saw a good mix of Cross and Mountain Bikes so if you've got one, bring it out and mix it up.

This upcoming Monday Joy Ride will be onsight with a demo bike to warm up on and ORBANA will be giving free samples to racers and fans. So come join us for some summer racing fun.

As always Kiddies and Juniors race for free so bring the family. See you out there!

Hello OBRA land, the Salem Short Track race series is just around the corner, starting Monday August 1st and continuing the 8th, 15th and 22nd. The course will be a combination of a BMX track with high burms and pump tracks, fast dirt sections and small pavement drag strips. This is a super fast course and is great for cross bikes so come out and do some final tune up before the CX season begins.

A few things of note, Kiddies and Juniors race for free so come down and bring the whole family. Also, we are still in need of volunteers, so if you would like to race for free, email me and let me know if you can help out. See you out there.

Thanks to all (you know who you are)who made the Salem Short Track series take place. I gotta say Jeff McNamee rocks. The sponsors are so supportive as well. Last year it whipped me good (as Devo might say). This year I was more prepared for the general course although they managed to inject some pretty tough sections which demanded your utmost attention. I love the laid-back atmosphere as well as the intense racing. Great job. I hope you bring it back for year 3. By the way. The group doing all the building of the bmx, pump track and other raised structures are creating a super neat place for people to ride and thus more interested in bikes. Your race is a neat window for them to see other two wheeled avenues...and there were always lots of bmx'ers out there watching (some raced too!).
