I think Craigslist had launched a hostile takeover bid of NickelAds,
because ever since Craigslist has been around, I haven't seen those little
NickelAds kiosks at Plaid Pantry.

I'm still trying to find an asphalt contractor and I thought I'd turn to Nickel Ads. I know I've been out touch for some time, but I didn't see any in my (brief) tour of downtown Portland today. So the request is two-fold: 1) Is N.A. still in business? and 2) where are they typically located?

Hey there OBRA'ers.



My business partner just finished a book on developing

web applications. There's a companion example web site

the book often refers to, which happens to be a bike

commerce site (kinda like nashbar, performance, etc.)



We're adding products to the database via a web based

interface, so virtually anyone can add products without

doing any programming or HTML. Just click here, there,

and poof, done.



If anyone would like to add a few products to the site,

contact me off list and I'll give you instructions.

They can be as funny or outlandish as you want. You can

add categories (eg brakes, wheels), or products to those

categories (eg avid disk brakes).



I don't know if anyone would want to play with it or not,

but I though I'd ask. We'll add a site credits page and

enter your name, town, and brief message to the world

(mainly computer geeks like me).



The site URL will be http://www.thirdwheelbikes.com, but it's

not launched yet as we're finishing up some of the code.
