Greetings OBRA racers!
Now that the rain has moved in and the dust has settled on the farm, I like to take a moment and thank everyone who came out on Sunday to cheer or to race. The weather was nice, the racing was tough, and the glory was 100% earned. Dust tans, sweat, various hues of "farm rash", and a lot of smiles. Don Kruger just loved watching the racers flying over his farm roads and he is already looking forward to our next rendez-vous at the farm: the Kruger's Crossing Cyclocross Classic (on Sunday Nov 21).
Results of Sunday's races are posted at:

Due to the high turn-out (close to 500 racers), we were not able to get all the results figured out on Sunday and had to forego the awards for most categories. However, we have some real cool medals for the top-3 finishers in each category, who can pick up their trophies at the Portland location of our title sponsor Bike N Hike, located at 400 SE Grand Ave, Portland.
Further, I like to thank:
- our generous sponsors: Bike N Hike, Hopworks Urban Brewing, Nossa Familia Coffee, Chris King, and Hammer Nutrition;
- John McCaffrey (of Bike N Hike) for providing neutral support;
- the OBRA crew and our first-aid provider, for keeping track of the racers and tending to the fallen;
- our announcer Splinter;
- the 20+ volunteers who did an amazing job setting up the course, getting people through registration, counting laps, marshaling around the course, and cleaning up down to the last cone.
Last but not least, a major shout to Don Kruger and all the friendly folks over at Kruger's Farm. We are very fortunate to have farmers like Don who make their property available for fun unique events like these and for all to enjoy the beauty of our farmlands. Please support them and their farm store, whenever you are out for a ride at Sauvie Island.
Time for cyclocross now... see you around at the races!
~Kris
