Fwd: OBRA Event Concerns

This is, of course, not unique to Greenhill Tech Park. Venues are difficult to come by and generally depend on the generosity of someone not so involved with bike racing. A single person peeing behind a tree, changing their clothes indiscreetly, littering or property damage no matter how small can cause us to lose a venue. We are depending on you to not only watch your own behavior but also those of your peers. When you see someone behaving in a detrimental way let them know that it is not cool and notify the race officials and organizers.

Folks-

I received this from one of the owners of the businesses at the
Greenhill Technology Park. If you race in Eugene, help make sure
these types of activities do not happen. Respect property owners.
This is how we lose venues- and losing this one would put a big hole
in our calendar.

If you see any of this happening, let the CR or Sal know.

Hey Sal,

We spoke a couple months back about keeping OBRA riders and spectators
off our property during your weekly OBRA event on Tuesdays in the
Green Hill Technology Park.  Our night supervisor informed me that our
desires for our property have been largely ignored.  The past two
weeks we have had:

·         Up to a dozen cars parked in our lot (there are to be none)

·         Unattended children climbing trees, testing locked doors and
throwing rocks at the building etc.

·         Unattended children walking and bicycling in the same area
of our parking lot used by the semi trucks coming to pick up our
product.

·         A spectator “relieving themselves” behind a bush on our property

As you can imagine, this type of behavior is something we cannot
tolerate.  Our business operation continues through the evening.  To
have anyone, let alone young children wandering through our dock puts
them in great danger.  For liability purposes we must insist that no
unauthorized personnel are on Harvest House Property regardless of the
time of day.  We have been accommodating to your organization in the
past and wish to continue this accommodation.  However, if our
property and desires for the use of our property are not respected we
will be forced to take further action.

Please do whatever is necessary to ensure that your riders and
spectators are aware of the rules we have in place and above all else
that the children with your group are attended and safe.  Even though
the season is coming to an end, we still feel this is something that
could not go ignored.  If you could e-mail me back with your plan of
action, it would be much appreciated.  We thank you for your
cooperation in this matter.
