68 Juniors at Hood River

John Wilson is not only an awesome cross racer, he's also an awesome
organizer. It was great seeing so many juniors on the course at once
with their own time slot. My kids and their friends had a blast and as
much as they like racing with all of us, they had an even better time
with just each other! Many kudos and thanks to John, Jeff Lorenzen and
OBRA for making this happen. Hopefully, we'll see more races in the
future with discrete time slots for juniors. Adding a half hour to the
schedule not only gives the 10 and 11 year olds a chance to race, it
also builds camaraderie among the juniors and their families. For those
of you who missed it, some of the parents' comments and their smack talk
at the mud pit yesterday were priceless. - Joe

That is a record for any OBRA event for Junior participation except
(perhaps - checking on it) a Junior Stage race held several years ago in
Eugene.

It is certainly a record for Oregon Cyclocross recorded history and a
great kick off to the Oregon Junior & High School Cyclocross Series.
Well done!

Thanks to Jeff Lorenzen for hosting the series at his awesome event. And
thanks to all the parents for bringing their kids out to the race. Age
graded Junior CX Series results should be out shortly but the first
round of High School results may take a day or two. Hang in there for
the manual calculations for best three finishers.

I got some good video of the SHOE stealing mud bog and will post
something shortly along with the High School results.
