Tubular Tire Recommendations for Cross

I like the Fango except for it's tendency to have the tread peel off. Not sure if that problem has fixed.

Agree wider is better.

I like the flexus primus and cubus. Cubus tread pattern works really well in the rear. In greasy mud I've noticed that on the front it can slip a bit. I think it is because the lugs are in rows instead of being a little offset. If the mud is pretty slick I've had good luck with Vittoria XM tires. I don't like the other Vittoria tires much when it gets wet.

I have the Tufo Cubus on one set of wheels and Challenge Grifo on
another. Both are great. Cubus works in mud a little better.

Here is a great article from Velonews. Note that even though Velonews is
stating pros and cons of these tires, ALL of these tires are very good!

We live in the northwest so I would suggest purchasing a mud or all-rounder
tire.

Hope this helps.

I really like the vittoria cross evo xg. It is a good all around tire also.

if you have to choose one tubular tire for the season, the Challenge Fango
is a good solid choice. look for high thread count (TPI) in any choice. it
will give you better patch contact over obstacles. Also, go with as wide a
tire as you can get, preferably a 34.

just my opinion.

Tufo flexus is a good choice also, I like the cubus tread pattern.

and use sealant in any of these choices.

First time Tubular user here looking for recommendations on a good all
around cross tubular tire, especially good in slick mud conditions.

I was looking at Challenge Fango and Challenge Griffo anyone using either of
these two tires and have with thoughts on how well they perform in the mud
? Any other recommendations are welcome.

Thanks
