Kevin
I will be competing in the Furnace Creek 508 next weekend. It's a 509 mile
and change ultra cycling race where we have crew and a follow vehicle to provide
the necessities of riding around the clock for two days in the Mojave
Desert/Death Valley. Three crew members are the norm, allowing them to rotate
through the duties and more importantly get some sleep.
I just had a crew member drop out due to a family medical issue. It's
short notice, we leave very early next Thursday morning and won't return until
early the following Tuesday (before daylight).
Two crew members can do it, it just takes all the fun out of it. I've been
in that position, I don't want my crew to have to experience that.
No cost to you but time.
If you find yourself with a flexible schedule, are between jobs, or
retired ;-) , love bikes, and want to see first hand what this crazy ultra
stuff is about, drop me a line.
Thanks,
Kevin "Desert Coyote" Van Dyke
