where did the year go? it seems like just weeks ago loading up the van for the last time and high fiving... proud of ourselves for putting on a bike race with such questionable logistics and not losing any limbs or friends. well, candi is still kind of iffy about it, but she's forgiven me for worse. so, here we are again. OBRA, 21st avenue bicycles (kyle!), castelli, alpenrose dairy, field jerger llp, madison's grill, joe, and i are very proud to present:
BLIND DATE AT THE DAIRY II!
categories and start times available here: http://www.crossseries.com/index.html
some changes and details for this year...
registration was bonkers last year. we're sorry. to avoid this we have employed the OBRA online registration system run by wizards from a secret high tech compound carved into the side of a mountain, accessible through our website here: http://www.crossseries.com/schedule.html. pre registration is also available at 21st avenue bicycles (if you don't trust wizards) by noon the day before your race. the fee structure is a little wonky and we may be giving some folks a buck or five back when they pick up their numbers. kind of like early christmas. race numbers and shirts (free if you pay for the whole season!) can be picked up early at 21st avenue bicycles this friday after 3pm, or at alpenrose on wednesday when we kick this thing off.
if you have been to the dairy in the last six months you may have noticed the ominous mountain of dirt and debris where we usually race bikes. do not be alarmed. the amazing folks at alpenrose and a guy named bud with some giant construction implements are helping us set up an awesome course. this year will promise more dairyland, more generators and lights, and, um... 100% more gazebos.
please note that alcohol is not permitted on the premises, and not to enter the manicured lawns or baseball diamonds. and obviously, use the restrooms. think of alpenrose as a family backyard we get to race on, because it is. thanks! -tony and joe.
