Well, I've been training, I ran for five whole minutes and actually thought about jumping on and off my cross bike. So bring it on all you young 60 year olds we old people are ready! Now, what were we talking about?

Last call for Cross Season. We are getting close to the REAL season of Cross.
We have the Jr. Cross Series. Now lets get the 60+ riders out there for the Ger. Cross Series (just my imagination, but sounds great if you are old huh?). Make sure you let promoters know you are 60+ when you register for races. Right now some are acknowledging we actually exist, although many would want us to just go away quietly into the assisted living options around the state. I say we are not going to take it any longer. Stand up gray and proud. Stand with the Jr's and be counted. Male, Female, Canine, Conifer or Deciduous! 60+ riders come out of the shadows. Enter. You might win ribbons or swag or just see you name in lights again like when you passed in front of the camera during the live channel 8 weather slot back in '72. Remember. No? That is OK. We forget lots of things and that is alright. I remember seeing you on the evening weather. You went by on your Peugeot... and you can still ride a bike. It is like the Lottery. If you don't play..... you don't play. Or if you play....you play. Those of you wanting some painful fun will show. Those too damaged (physically or emotionally)... it is OK. We understand. Been there. Done that. Took the meds / therapy and being lucky, it worked for us. Please join those of us still vertical and mobile.
Take care now and watch out for single-speeders. See you at the races. If nothing else we can at least race with 50+....those youngsters are so rambunctious.
thanks for reading...sorry so long.
