The Heiser course was a different animal on Sat. Thanks to all who

OK 60+ racers. Get out there to the FARM! Is that not where we oldsters
get placed at some point anyway? The course is just awesome. I am not
saying this from my mountain bike background either. Except for the grassy
areas, it is pretty much all just farm roads. I wish I lived there, except
Dorothy's commute to Pill Hill would....well... ugly.
Thanks Jeff and Crew.

Buy Local Cycling and Cap Velo will be hosting the 3rd annual Heiser
Farms cyclocross race in Dayton, Oregon, Saturday, October 9th, 2010.
This will be the second year that Heiser Farms will also host the Oregon
Junior Cyclocross Series. Full race details are available here:

http://www.buylocalcycling.com/HeiserFarms2010/

We'll be racing up, down, and around a picturesque Heiser pumpkin
farm. Heiser Farms recently
renovated an old white barn and will offer a new staging/start area.

See course map here: http://tiny.cc/k3aho

The race will be taking place during Heiser's Brats & Bluegrass
Festival, benefiting the Yamhill Co Foodbank, so there will be
entertainment and refreshments along with pumpkins for sale and
activities for all. If you're not racing at Rainier consider the
5k run on Sunday organized by XDogs.

Some other details:

1. Parking: Please park on the N. side of Grand Island Loop Rd (see
map) across from the new white barn.

2. Numbers: We'll be using Cross Crusade numbers.

3. OBRA online reg available. Online reg will close at 12 pm on Friday.

4. Start: The start and registration will be near the WHITE barn
(21428 Southeast Grand Island Road).
The start is ~1/2 mile long. Succeeding laps and finish will occur SE
of the start area. A shuttle (a.k.a. a hay ride) will be available
for spectators that don't want to walk over to view the main race
course.

5. Prizes: Cat A Men & Women (cash 10 deep). NW Multisports online
store gift certificates (3 deep) for all other cats. Prizes,
including age appropriate Golden Valley Brew, will be distributed after
the 3pm race.
