Ryan
I was wondering the same thing, so I spoke with Jan Luke-Hamasaki at USA Cycling today about it. According to her, this is the match up:
OBRA / USA
A / 2
B / 3
C / 4
Beg / 4
So, to race the CX Nats, you need to have an OBRA license that shows your CX Cat as B.
She recommended getting the upgrade to B, and then recommending an upgrade on the USA Cycling Website.
Hope this helps.

Anyone know what the match-up is for OBRA and USAC cross categories is?
Here's what I know:
OBRA has Men A, B, C, Beginner and Women A, B, C
USAC has Cat 1, 2, 3, 4
It looks like this is the match-up:
USAC
OBRA
1
--
2
A
3
B
4
C
--
Beg
The reciprocity agreement doesn't mention anything about category
alignment. I would assume that USAC 4 would be equivalent to OBRA
beginner, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Does OBRA really not
have anything that matches a USAC Cat 1?
(Just as a note, only USAC Cat 1-3 are eligible to compete in most of
the men's categories at cross nationals)
Anyone in the know that can verify this?
Thanks
Seth
