Subject: [OBRA Chat] Shout out to 50+ Blind Daters

As a fellow Old Dude, I'd like to take a moment to recognize a few of the many on/over the hill Blind Daters who braved their bedtimes to come rip around the Dairy.

50+ cross racer Ti Tyynismaa, modestly refused to don the leader’s jersey in last night’s Master C field. His daughter Taylor, who happily wears the leader’s jersey in the U 18 Women’s field and who also won the Women’s B Hole Shot Prime last night, explained thather dad is a retired, 25 year Navy Seal commander and is trained to go stealth!

Ti won’t have to worry next week. 50+ Blind Dater Dan MacNaughten had a well-deserved victory andwill slip into the masters’ leader’s jersey at Blind Date 4. Ti is sitting undercover two points back.

How about 50+ Blind Dater Bill Zale taking the Hole Shot Prime in the competitive Men’s B field?

You also gotta love 60+ BlindDater Ron Strasser mixing it up in the Single Speed field. (Anyone have any suggestions for a sweet new nickname for 60+ Blind Daters?) http://picasaweb.google.com/mblackwelder/BlindDate10132010#slideshow/5527963775382313858
Finally, although he’s not yet 50, a big shout out to Team Embrocation’s Steven Hunter. Steven replaced the dark lenses he raced in to second place overall in last year’s Blind Date series with clear lenses, in which he has captured and preserved his 2010 leader’s jersey in the tough Men’s A field. Judging from his ear to ear grin during the entire race, I predict Steven will be the next Ron Strasser – in 33 years! http://picasaweb.google.com/mblackwelder/BlindDate10132010#slideshow/5527966757184539346
