That was me, and I'm glad everyone liked them, I got a ton of positive
comments along the course.

The lights are called "SpokeLit" by NiteIze and I got mine on Amazon
here: http://is.gd/g1ax5 but I also saw them at Universal Cycles last
week in their store (other Portland bike shops might have some as
well). They come in various colors and cost about $8 each. Last week I
ran 2 per wheel (I'm going to try 3 per wheel this week, along with
lights on my frame) and they don't add much weight because they use
tiny watch batteries for power.

A comment about the lights. Just think about how you do not want a bright light in your eyes blinding you...keep them pointed down as a courtesy please. As far as decoration...come on! This is our last two times (maybe last dry time) to race our bikes in the dark. Make them pretty for fellow racers and fans. I loved those blue wheels last Wednesday night. They were beautiful. Please the people racers. Toni needs no lights as his bike glows pink.

But first..

Pre-riding: In order to help pre-riders see when/where the course is open, a designated sweep will be sent out after the Junior race. The sweep will be wearing a yellow vest and pre-riders are not to be on the course anywhere ahead of the sweep. The sweep will start from the Start line approximately 4 minutes after the first finisher. Luciano will announce the exact moment when the sweep will start opening the course. (When the sweep gets to the Finish line then the whole course is open until we announce that it is closed for the beginning of the next race.)

Lights: No helmet lights please (except for decoration). All lights should be set to "steady' (not blinking). Some leeway will be given to creative and entertaining lighting solutions.

Okay, now for the start order:
