Tossing Glasses No More!

For those with a preference for low cost alternatives check out your
local industrial supply houses. They all carry inexpensive safety glasses.

My favorite is the Body Guard G8
,
available at Fastenal. Four different lens tints, full wrap
polycarbonate and flexible earpieces. Not only impact resistant and UV
protective (even the clear lens) but flexible enough they can be twisted
and sat on without breaking.
All that for less than $5.

Rick

I was thinking the same thing. Personally I use cheap safety glasses for
cross that way I do not feel bad if they get scratched or if I lose them.

Until some enterprising person decides to start being a mid-race sunglass
valet perhaps you glass tossers would entertain taking a preemptive measure
against having to throw your favorite glasses away in the first place (and
subsequently having to confess your sunglass sins to thousands of strangers
you are hoping will be your lost and found salvation).

Get some Chums , and use
them. Choose one of the models with the single sliding adjuster. With that
you'll find there's a sweet adjustment point where with one hand you can
push your glasses past your nose where they will drop like magic to a safe
resting point under your chin.
If your glasses were only fogged and you later wish to put them back on the
retainer also makes an effective guide so that with one hand you can quickly
restore your glasses to their proper place protecting your orbs. A slight
tug on the tail also helps seat them back in place close against your face.
It is then you will find another another advantage, while under your chin
your glasses are kept near the same temperature as they were on your face.
That helps reduce the fogging that normally occurs from cold lenses being
put close to your warm and sweaty face.

No, I have no investment in the company. I've just been using the product
for decades. In fact I consider Chums a mandatory accessory for winter
riding (and skiing).

Until some enterprising person decides to start being a mid-race
sunglass valet perhaps you glass tossers would entertain taking a
preemptive measure against having to throw your favorite glasses away in
the first place (and subsequently having to confess your sunglass sins
to thousands of strangers you are hoping will be your lost and found
salvation).

Get some Chums , and use
them. Choose one of the models with the single sliding adjuster. With
that you'll find there's a sweet adjustment point where with one hand
you can push your glasses past your nose where they will drop like magic
to a safe resting point under your chin.
If your glasses were only fogged and you later wish to put them back on
the retainer also makes an effective guide so that with one hand you can
quickly restore your glasses to their proper place protecting your orbs.
A slight tug on the tail also helps seat them back in place close
against your face. It is then you will find another another advantage,
while under your chin your glasses are kept near the same temperature as
they were on your face. That helps reduce the fogging that normally
occurs from cold lenses being put close to your warm and sweaty face.

No, I have no investment in the company. I've just been using the
product for decades. In fact I consider Chums a mandatory accessory for
winter riding (and skiing).
