beginner's endurance building ride (paceline practice)

Long, Steve

2010-11-01

Second monthly beginner's endurance building ride on the 1st Saturday of
the month this Saturday, Nov. 6th. Both women and men are encouraged to
come to this ride. Additionally, more experienced riders are welcome.
However, please keep in mind that it will be a relatively easy or lower
endurance pace.

If it rains, full fenders with mud flaps are encouraged to help protect
people from the inventible rooster tails. J

Ride start location: Sellwood Riverfront Park parking lot (next to Oak's
Park @ SE Spokane & Oaks Park Way).

Start Time: 9:30 AM

Ride Duration: 2 to 3 hours with possible bailout points for those
needing to get back sooner.

Focus: The focus for the Nov. 6th ride will again be on building
endurance for next year's road season (or maintaining endurance for
current cross season).

Additional focus will be on pacelining. We will incorporate some hills
or rolling terrain along with turns to exhibit proper pacing and
technique in these situations.

Ride leader: Steve Long, Wenzel coach and North River Racing member.
