Uma Kleppinger
Hey CXers:
Do you put your bike away caked with mud after one race expecting it to work perfectly at the next? Why do it to your body? A few minutes (15-20 minutes a day) of doing the right stretches and movements will help tune-up your body so it works better, feels better, rides better. Plus, if you're obsessed with performance, a recent USAC study prove that improving flexibility directly translates to greater power transfer. In other words, greater flexibility and range of motion means faster riding.
Bike Yoga is a flexibility and recovery plan for active cyclists. This is not your girlfriend's sweaty power yoga workout. Think of it more like a tune-up for your body—with simple movements and exercises anyone can do or modify, regardless of flexibility. In as little as 20 minutes a day you'll improve lower back and core strength, hip and spine mobility, and ease neck and shoulder pain. Did I mention it's simple? Not necessarily easy—you will be challenged—but it's definitely simple.
