FW: Cyclocross Nationals - Volunteer opportunities!

Fellow Cyclists,

Cyclocross Nats in Bend is getting close - less than a month away! As
you all know, it takes a monumental effort to pull together a
large-scale event like this. I know many of you are coming over from
other areas of Oregon and perhaps have some time or a family member or
friend who can volunteer while you are in town.

Volunteers are needed to help with course set-up, break-down,
registration (an indoor job) and on-course support (primarily marshaling
- watching pedestrian crossings, etc.) from the Monday before Nats start
through the following Monday.

I've created a spreadsheet that can be accessed online via Google Docs.
You do not have to have a Google/Gmail sign in to access and add your
name to this spreadsheet. There are several tabs across the bottom,
defaulting to the "START HERE_HOW TO VOLUNTEER" Tab and continuing with
tabs for each day. You will see shifts and where the volunteer
opportunities are under each day. Each day has its own tab.
Unfortunately, the colored tabs on the bottom did not retain their color
when the file was uploaded, but it's fairly straight forward:

If you are not comfortable with your email and/or phone number being
displayed on the spreadsheet, please add your name to your
day(s)/time(s) and email me directly with your contact information. I
will make sure your contact information remains private. Note however
that only people who have the link can see the spreadsheet, it's not
available to the wild, wild web.

If you have trouble accessing the file, please email me and I will help.
As we get closer to the week of the event, I will email all volunteers
with a "volunteer meet and greet" as well as information about where to
meet during the event and exactly what your specific duties entail

This year, every volunteer will receive a cool goody (a surprise!) as
well as a food voucher to use in the Deschutes Brewery Food Tent
on-site. We're also working on having coffee available in the volunteer
check-in tent and a few other creature comforts. Pastini's Pastaria
Restaurant in The Old Mill is also giving every volunteer a 20% off your
entire table's check coupon - a great savings. I'm working on getting
other deals for volunteers as well.

Again thank you for your support! If you have any issues with the
spreadsheet link, do not hesitate to call me (541) 390-5911 or send me
an email. Oh and a shameless plug - the last FreshAirSports
CrossAflixion Cross race is on Saturday, November 27th here in Bend. Get
some snow and ice riding experience a couple of weeks before nationals.
