Long, Steve
Third monthly Skills building and endurance ride on the 1st Saturday of
the month this Saturday, Dec., 4th. Both women and men are encouraged to
come to this ride. Additionally, experienced riders are welcome.
However, please keep in mind that it will be a relatively easy or lower
endurance pace.
Because of the USGP this weekend at PIR, I will need to have you RSVP if
you are planning on coming to the ride Saturday. If I don't get any
RSVP's and you show up and I not there. Opps! J
If it rains, full fenders with mud flaps are encouraged to help protect
people from the inventible rooster tails. J
Ride start location: Sellwood Riverfront Park parking lot (next to Oak's
Park @ SE Spokane & Oaks Park Way).
Start Time: 9:30 AM
Ride Duration: 2 to 3 hours with possible bailout points for those
needing to get back sooner.
Focus: The focus for the Dec., 4th ride will again be on building
endurance for next year's road season (or maintaining endurance for
current cross season).
We will continue with paceline skills but add in techniques for
descending, staying on the wheel in front of you even during corners and
pedaling mechanics if time permits. We will incorporate some hills or
rolling terrain along with turns to exhibit proper pacing and technique
in these situations.
Ride leader: Steve Long, Wenzel Coach.
