My team Emerald Velo [UNITED FINANCE] promotes the OBRA TT so I can answer your
question.

1] Most people stop racing by August
2] The last two years we have had a hard time getting an August date [To many
OBRA races, not enuf officials]
3] Last year even with short notice [we changed the date 2 times because of
conflicts with other races] we had better attendance then we did in August 09]

4] Are people really more fit in August than June? I think not for most.

 If it were up to me [as promoter] I would have it in February/March, that seems
like when most want to race, maybe in 2012........
