We, on this side of the river, have to keep our eye on this guy: He's been trying to drum up signatures for a bill:

Ban bicycles from vehicle roadways
I agree with other letter writers that the time has come for bicyclists to be banned from the roads. Rarely do I see these two-wheelers ever follow the road laws. When is the last time you saw a bicycle actually make a complete stop for a stop sign? They claim the right to use the road, but they are only hazards on it. The scofflaw bicycle riders still make their cry of “We have a right to the road!” But they don’t. We do not permit horses to amble along in 50 mph traffic, so why the bicycles? Put them back on bike paths in the country or in playgrounds.

The bike riders often demand that they should have separate “bike paths” on the streets. But who pays for widening the roads or making these paths on already narrow streets? The car and truck drivers pay through the tax on gasoline, license plate fees, car registrations, insurance, etc. There are no bicycle licenses and fees to help pay. Car and truck drivers must take tests and pass them to get a license. But bicycle riders just go out and buy a bike. The time has come to remove these slow-moving road hazards and confine them to off-road bike paths.
