was wondering if people are riding single speed 'cross bikes and what their impressions are for the local race circuit. i'm trying to get a bike together for my first attempt at cyclo-cross and i'm thinking that i'd like to keep equipment costs down as much as possible and concentrate on technique and see if i can have fun at the same time. any info. on appropriate gear inches and equipment choice would be nice. also, any input on chain tensioners would be good as the frame i'm working with has vertical dropouts.
thanks and a big thanks to brad ross and co. for a fantastic crit last night. i enjoyed all 8 1/2 minutes or so of the race i competed in. hopefully it comes back next year!
