I think you all might be jumping the gun a little here. In the past, when
then Twilight was on the OC schedule, it was only for the Men's 1-2 field. I
suspect it will be that way this year also, unless you can convince the
promoters that there will be a big enough women's field that it is worth
their money and effort replace the Cat 3 race with a women's race.

I need some help with locating a person who has knowledge in nutrition/healthy eating to speak to a group of developmentally disabled adults. My wife and I work with a non profit organization called Housing Independence (HI). HI offers classes for adults with developmental disabilities to help them live independently. Obviously nutrition is a huge area we need to educate these folks on and we are in desperate need to find someone to come and speak at two of our classes, one from 3-5pm Tuesday and one from 6-8pm on a Thursday sometime this month. The talk doesn't need to be very in depth just the basics of nutrition and choosing healthy foods, not frozen pizza as it seems to the preferred stipend. Classes are held in Beaverton off of SW Allen Blvd. I can't offer any compensation other than sincere gratitude.
Please if you are willing to help us with this or know someone that is please contact me off list.
Thank you,

Team Highlander is a ?grass roots?, USA Cycling (USAC), Oregon Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA) (Pending licensed) racing team with safety, camaraderie and goal oriented training as our top priorities. New members should have some racing or pack riding experience and a willingness to learn bicycle racing skills and tactics in a team environment. Those with strong egos may not fit in.
Team Highlander is an open enrollment organization welcoming anyone interested in competitive cycling. Team Highlander offers and encourages members of the team to work together to help each other improve and become stronger, smarter, and more competitive cyclists. The team offers members a supportive framework in which to pursue their racing goals, as well as offering aspiring racers an environment in which to grow and learn about the sport.
The first TEAM MEETING is scheduled for January 17 @ 7:00 p.m. at Highlander Cycling, Longview, Wa. Come learn about the benefits, exciting sponsorships, discounts and other perks ? and get a preview of the new racing kit.

Was great seeing so many Oregonians at last year's event. Its about a 1.5h
drive from Portland.
Additionally for those of you who like the endurance races, we will have a
marathon-distance race (Stottlemeyer 30/60 Miler, working with Kevin R who
put it on last year) out in Port Gamble, WA, sometime in May, more info on
that soon.
Keep on riding!

Yes, I am afraid that's right. These two events are marked preliminary because I haven't confirmed with the promoters. And, as far as I know, neither event offers women's categories. I'm sorry I didn't notice before.
I think it's OK if the women and men have slightly different Oregon Cup events, but it doesn't seem equitable for the men to have two events that the women can't race.
I try to balance a number of things in the Oregon Cup schedule, so I am not sure what we will do for the final schedule. I will try and nail it down soon, though.

I was massively disappointed that it didn't capture the crash in the '75
10 mile. As far as I can tell all of the '75 10 mile footage is from
after the crash that took down Leusenkamp, Shoquist, Spees, and one
other wanker. IIRC Shoquist went from the red straight down onto the
apron head-first, of course wearing a leather "hairnet" helmet.
I actually enjoyed the '76 Alpenrose footage more, but I'm biased:

funny how if one ignores helmets, clothing and such how little riding a bike on the track has changed. More track stands then it seems.

OBRA Women!
Baroudeur-Rouleurs Racing (the gals formally known as Veloforma) is hosting
a Naked Lady Party for all the ladies of OBRA (and their lady friends).
We'd like you to come, because you're all awesome, and we'd like you to
bring your clean clothes, both bike and street themed, that you no longer
fit or want. Hopefully your lovingly used threads will become someone else's
new look for spring.
When: February 12th from 3 to 7pm
Where: Upper Echelon Fitness - 1420 NW 17th
Why: Because everyone needs new (to you) clothes!
Yes, it's a fundraiser: Suggested $7 donation at the door and yes, we're
planning on having food and drink!
If you can RSVP (on the Facebook event if possible, or just email me) that
would be great and help us plan for the appropriate amount of libations.
Please bring all your clothes with you to the party. We will be holding
this upstairs in the yoga space, away from windows, and near ample dressing
room space. All left overs will be donated to Goodwill, unless you wish to
take them with you.
More details can also be found here:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=192921914056618 and or course you can
email me for more info or questions.

Does anyone have any experience going to the car auctions? Our Team is looking to purchase a passenger van for the season ahead. I don't have much experience with the auctions but thought it might be a good avenue to find a decent rig. Looking to have a conversation or contribute a possible finders fee.

Why not ask USAC just to use my international license fee for all these years. I haven't gotten anything out of it. $1000? Are you kidding? I have always told them to pound sand guess that's why 0 US men were at marathon last year.

HEY OBRA!
I need your help. Please come drink a lot of beer on Tuesday, January 18th at HUB (Hopworks Urban Brewery, 2944 SE Powell). For each pint you drink, they donate $1 towards the USAC $1000 fee to participate in CX Worlds. I also have a GREAT raffle in the works, so stay tuned. Details to follow!
Cheers. Drink up! See you Tuesday.
Sue

Selling a gorgeous commuter, about 6 months since purchase, size small.
Internal rear hub, totally bomb-proof. Disc brakes. 8 gears, plenty for
hills and flats (I commute daily up the hill to OHSU on it). Has some
upgrades - really nice fenders, carbon seatpost and Fizik saddle. Only thing
not included are the pedals.
Here's a link to Scott's website for more info.
http://www.scott-sports.com/gb_en/product/10060/55882/218049
The bike looks exactly like the one in their photo except it's all white.
Asking $950.
