Hi Everyone,

I apologize if this has posted twice. I was having trouble sending email last night, so I am covering my bases with this one.

I am selling my Kona “The King” FS XC race bike. It has been raced and ridden for 3 seasons. I have made a few significant upgrades which I will mention below. This bike weighs 26lbs and is a blast to ride and race. I recently picked up a new bike and I am at my max limit for bikes in my garage, thus, this needs to go.

Parts breakdown:

Frame: Kona “The King” 18’ FS Scandium frame

Fork: 2009 Rock Shox Reba SL w/ remote lockout (this is an upgrade over the stock Fox fork that came with the bike)

Headset: FSA Orbit

Brakes: 2009 Shimano XT levers/ calipers (upgrade over Hayes brakes)

Handlebar: Specialized flat bar (upgrade over stock Race Face riser bar- this puts you in a much more aggressive xc position for racing)

Stem: Race Face Evolve

Shifters: SRAM Attack twist shifter (upgrade over stock Shimano XT triggers- unclutters the cockpit with the remote lockout lever being added- who wants 5 paddles to flick when racing?)

Grips: ODI lock on

Seatpost: Race Face Evolve

Saddle: Fizik Nisene (Upgrade over stock WTB saddle)

Cranks/ BB: Race Face Evolve

Derailluers (front and rear): Shimano XT

Chain: XTR 9 speed

Cassette: XT 9 speed

Wheels: Shimano WH-M765 (upgrade over FSA stock wheels- stock wheels had bad reviews as being too flexy and lots of spokes breaking. These wheels are completely bombproof. No truing ever needed and they run straight and true. Also, tubeless compatible.)

Tires: Brand new/ still in package Michelin Wild Gripr and Racr dual compound tubeless tires. Not even mounted onto wheels yet, but I will give them to you in addition to the Maxxis Ignitor/ Crossmark setup I currently have on the wheels.

If you’ve made it this far, I hope this means you are interested in the bike. MSRP was $3300, so I am asking $1000 as a fair price. The fork was a $750 upgrade while the brakes were an extra $250. So that was an extra $1000 thrown into the bike to keep it competitive. All of the pivots are in good working order and whatever maintenance I did not perform myself, I had my local Bike Gallery shop take care of it. I have truly babied this bike so it is ready to race for the upcoming season.

I can email pictures if you are interested and I am located in Beaverton. Please reply off list if interested.

Thanks.
Dave
