Ron and Dorothy Strasser
Thanks for a great 2010... and a heartfelt and insightful letter to editors of Velonews. Racing at the elite level is a true quest for the young to have as a positive goal (just remove all the epo etc). They can use this focus on training and doing things to strengthen themselves, learn discipline, and many other good life lessons But the real heart of all forms of cycle racing is the varying degrees of commitment to the sport by regular people living regular lives. It is that love of the sport ( by us normal folk) that is the true fuel on which it runs. If the masses did not get to buy the trickle-down high tech stuff these top level racers get to ride (or at least kind-of similar), we could not pretend to be as fast and strong...and or support the products they ride.
Thanks for pointing that out to Velonews and their readers Brad. You provide a supportive place for elite and normal people to get on the course and race bikes. Your races also provide a great opportunity for fun and positive adventure for supporters of the racers.
