not such a long short.
if someone called 911, you can order the 911 audio tapes. In Portland it's $50
to BOEC, elsewhere it varies.
if police showed up, they are tracked by CAD, which shows their moment by moment
communications.
If fire showed up, they are tracked too, but I've never tracked them.
if I was you, I would ask the Ambulance folks how they knew to come get you.
Based on their answer you can start swimming upstream.
I am happy to give you some swimming coaching if you want to email me off list.
I am glad you are around to let us know.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] long shot, but please take the time to read this
So Saturday the 5th I left for a longer road ride at about 2pm, and I don't know
what happened but I woke up in the hospital. The ER people told me that I was
found in a ditch on the side of Germantown Road by someone driving or walking
by. Besides not remembering most of the day, or any of the ride I will be ok. I
have some broken bones in my face and ribs and some stitches but I'll live, and
should be racing my bike in the next month or so. I wanted to take the time to
write this though, because I have no idea who found me. I know this is a long
shot, but Portland is a small enough town that I'm hoping someone may have heard
something about this and can maybe get me in contact with the person that found
me. We tried to contact the ambulance that brought me in, and talked to the ER
people many times, but it doesn't look like they know. If I never find out who
found me, then I never find out, but I would really like to just say thank you.
So if any of you have heard anything, or hear from someone else that heard
something it would really mean a lot to me. I'm pretty confident that without my
helmet I wouldn't even be writing this, so I'm pretty stoked just to be alive.
So if you can help that would be AWESOME, and if not, I'll see you out there
this race season. Keep the rubber side down.
