Echo to Red Cat 2 distance?

Ah! Thanks Mellisa. I was in the front group right behind the pickup truck
at the start and never got passed on the course, so I was really confused
at the finish when all these guys finished in front of me that weren't in
the first group. Doh! Next time I guess I'll look at the signs a little
more carefully.
Also, my son riding in the juniors got lost, although he's not a native
English speaker so it's a little harder for him to read the signs on the
fly.

Yes, you definitely did an extra section. I remember that spot, and there
was a very large sign that said TURN with a big yellow arrow pointing right.
Under that, it said Pro-Cat 1. Then under that it said cat 2-3 and there was
a red arrow pointing left, which was quite hard to see because it was on a
red background. I nearly turned too, my race-addled brain just seeing the
TURN and the yellow arrow, but a couple of guys behind me caught it and I
got stopped in time.

I also had a problem with which way to turn for the Juniors. Was supposed to
do 13 miles and did 22 miles. Maybe I did the Cat 2 route?? Or maybe the Cat
3 and Cat 2 had the same route?? Hopefully next year it will be a little
more clear. I'm glad I'm not the only one who took an extra few miles. Was
an awesome course and a sweet race despite a few misconceptions. Here is my
data for Cat 3's

First, great race out in Echo, thanks to everyone who put it together.
Having checked my Garmin distance against the course map and some of the other Garmin Connect results from Cat 2, it would appear I and a few others got to ride an extra 2.3 miles of sweet single track (the new section just SE of the lower crop circle on the map) before we came out to the gravel road. I and a buddy ended up at 24.4 miles, while it looks like some other cat 2's were in at 22.1 miles. Did I miss a turn?
