Thanks to everyone for all of the great info.

Sounds like PIR Monday nights beginner rides and clinics next month will be
a great place to get some experience.

*Now, *I'm in the market for a woman's road bike (and gear). I am on
somewhat of a budget, and don't really want to splurge while I'm so new and
trying all this out. I'm petite at 5'1.

I've been looking on CL, and I don't know what I'm looking at!

I have a mountain bike currently.
