Wade,

Of course the centerline rule will be enforced. As the Chief Ref for this
race I will give instructions to the other officials and the official for
your race will give specific instructions as per what we will be watching
for. The gravel road the race will be on is a two way traffic road, and
although there is not a yellow line painted in the center of the road, you
can clearly tell where center of the road is. The road does have a crest in
the middle and the road slopes away from it. That being said, if you get
caught in the gravel and find yourself over the 'centerline', it would be
best to get back onto the right side of the road as quickly as possible.
Officials and race organizers do not control traffic on the other side of
the road and the road is not closed, so oncoming traffic (although lightly
traveled as this road is) is still a possibility.

POC is just a couple of days away... and things are shaping up to make it the one of the toughest flat races you'll ever do! Thanks again to our fine sponsors Bike N Hike, Hopworks, Nancy's, Kool Stop, Sports Nutrition Center, Webcyclery, Enzo's, and Wenzel Coaching.

Here are some updates and reminders:

Don't forget: there are TWO waivers that must be signed. Save yourself some time by downloading and completing them before you arrive.

Parking is limited. Please carpool if you can.

Numbers are right side/back left (thanks for the reminder, Tony!).

Women 3 will be given a section of bright-colored ribbon to pin to their numbers to help distinguish them from Women 1/2s (thanks for the suggestion, Heather!). Likewise, Women 40+ will be given a section of bright-colored ribbon to pin to their numbers to help distinguish them from Women 4s.

Don't forget to bring a couple of dollars to support the Perrydale School bake sale fundraiser.

And finally, please, please, please be excellent ambassadors for our sport. Use the trash bins. Use the toilets (bounty enforced!). Be modest when changing clothes. Leave nothing behind but pleasant memories of your visit to the community of Perrydale.

2011 PIECE OF CAKE UPDATE:

The POC flyer has been updated to show the final prize list. Total value of Cash and Merchandise to be awarded is over $2,800 thanks to our fine sponsors Bike N Hike, Hopworks, Nancy's, Kool Stop, Sports Nutrition Center, Webcyclery, Enzo's, and Wenzel Coaching.

Additionally, while continuing to ride with Women 1/2, Women's Cat 3 riders will now be scored separately and have their own prizes. You can give Ironclad's Dave Aldersebaes your undying gratitude for being the catalyst for this change!

Remember: There are TWO waivers for this event. Save yourself some time and download the Yamhill County waiver and the OBRA waiver through the POC on-line flyer, and fill them out before you arrive.

Finally, bring a couple of extra dollars to support the Perrydale School Girl's Softball Team bake sale near the registration area! We are extremely fortunate to have the support of the school for our event -- they are very excited to make the award cakes for the winners!

Thanks! See you at POC next week!
