Great race! I did the 4/5 masters and we made it a really hard race. We hit
the gravel sections really hard all 3 laps! Everyone got strung out and it
broke up each time. Only 7 of us were left in a break after the last time
through the gravel! With 3 miles to go I heard something clicking on my rear
wheel but could not identify the problem. It was a safety pin stuck in my
tubular tire! I ended up with a flat with 1k to go! Bummer! I rode the flat
and ended up 6th. One big lesson I learned is that I will use tire sealant
in my tubulars. Rookie mistake. That would have saved my tire.
Fun race. I will be there again. Hope you use the same course again!
