Maybe when he gets back he can teach us how to do those cool
dolphin bunny hops over the cross barricades ;)

Jeremy has had a very busy season so far, and it is not over yet!
Last week Jeremy and I went to the NORBA National Championships in MT
Snow, Vermont. Jeremy had a great time there and rode well. He did not
ride his best, but he did a great job. Jeremy was the second American and
placed 3rd overall. If he had he made a few of the moves he tried, he could
have won the whole comp. This was his first year that he really ever had a
chance to win at nationals.
The first and second place riders are both extremely good riders and they
rode a smart comp and dabbed up the places that were too hard. Jeremy on
the other hand was working on finding out his limits and tried every hard
move and almost made them and infact rode some places that no one else made.
Jeremy was using this comp to get him ready for the World Championships. It
is a little hard to do this because the rules at this comp allosws you use
your bashguard and pedals, at the World Championships you are not allowed
to use either your pedals or your bashguard. So, Jerremy never rides using
his pedals or bashguard, so this comp was hard for him because some of the
really big moves required you to use either your bashguard or pedals.
Overall Jeremy was very happy with being the second place American. Only
two Senior riders from the US made the World Team this year. Jeremy and JJ
the 17 time National Champion. JJ at the last minute decided not to go
this year, so only Jeremy and one Junior will be going. The other Junior
hurt himself ( not doing trials ) and is not recovered enough to go.
We got home form Nationals and was here for one day and then Jeremy left
for the World Championships in Austria. Has I write this he is in Germany
at the airport waiting for a bus. The cool thing about this trip is that
Jeremy currently is riding for adidas, but he does not have a contract with
them. but Lawrence Motola at adidas made sure Jeremy got to go. We think he
may have paid for the trip himself. Needless to say Jeremy was happy to go.
Jeremy's goal is to make it into the top 10, in the Senior's class. No,
American has ever done this. I told him that would be great, but work on
enjoying yourself and learning everything you can from those guys. Jeremy,
still is learning so much everytime he gets to ride with the Europeans.
They are the worlds best and riding with them has brought Jeremy's riding to
new levels. He has improved more in the last 6 months than any time in his
life. Going to Europe and strength train has helped him alot.
During the one day home, Jeremy had to take his old bike apart, wait for
his new bike from DeSalvo, put it together, ride it, tear it down and repack
it for the next trip. He was so excited, he made a few changes to this new
bike and he loved the way it felt. One in Austria he will have a whole week
to get use to it. Mike DeSalvo also used some more hi tech steel in this
bike and Jeremy said it felt more solid then any of his other bikes, it this
works out it will help Jeremy alot. Of course, he also had to spend time
with a girl!!! I guess girls aren't so bad any more!
We will keep you updated on his results at the World Championships.
When Jeremy gets back from the World Championships he has some big events
still one the table, including the Red Bull Trials Invatation in Boston, the
Interbike show in Las Vegas, and the North American Trials Series in
Southern California. Plus he has some local demos. After that he will
decide, if he can do any cyclo-cross races this year. I know he wants to do
some cyclo-cross, but time and sponsorship will determine, if he gets to do
any of the races.
I hope we can do some cyclo cross this year and look forward to seeing
everyone there.
