Hello All,
As we look forward to more "spring" like weather in Central Oregon, there are more chances to get out on the mountain bikes and enjoy the small window of time here when the trails are moist. When riding, please consider, as I am sure most of you do, how much "moisture" is on the trail. The soft areas of the trails here which collect snow melt are prime spots for immense trail damage, and can be avoided with a little care.
Currently, we have a trail closure on Peterson Ridge near the upper loop. Apparently, the closure was removed, and ridden without consideration to how sloppy the conditions are/were. As most of you consider riding in the dirt this time of year, please respect any closures. Currently, all of the lower stuff on Peterson Ridge is rideable, and in fantastic condition. I am sure just one week w/o snow or rain, will dry up any sloppy areas, and we won't have to worry about it anymore. But for now, please pay attention, and use good judgment when riding in the soft areas.
Happy Trails,
Joel
