Hey Guys
Man, thats a long break between races. I hope to see you next weekend for
Race # 2 at Hornings. Tom Hoffman and his crew are working on putting the
final details on this fast course.
Its a fast and tough short loop with Punchy climbs and will test your front
tire/rear tire traction and lactate threshold. I am not quite sure, but I
bet if it is wet a cross bike may work well also, so all of you people who
only own a cross bike bring them. In fact I have had people win races at the
Mudslinger with a cross bike. You may want to run a tire liner if you do
that at Mudslinger but it can work.
Series Standings are up and with all of those fast out of State riders at
Echo if you placed well, you are fast indeed.

23rd Peak Sports Mudslinger
Race # 3 Registration is Open and the first 250 will get a Custom Purist
Specialized/Mudslinger Water bottle along with guaranteeing your pasta and
bread. Last year we cut it close with our estimate and do bring food for
more but if you want to make sure Pre-register. Its not cool to run out and
my family will take care of you after the race. My personal record is 460
riders in 95, and I believe 520 or so was the biggest, but that was with 100
from California and 75 from Washington and 75 from Idaho
Back to the race, 3 weeks from today (Saturday 4/23) Day before Easter and
yes we will be having a Easter Egg hunt for the Kids and a Kids Race at 1:30
prior to awards
- Cash for the Pros
- thousands in raffle from Specialized, Club Ride, Ergon, Io-Bio, Tifosi,
Hammer Nutrition and many more
- Mass start (300-400 people up 3 miles of logging roads (not that steep)
- Day of registration from 7-9:30am Racer meeting at 10:15 and we will
roll out at 10:30 for the neutral start for almost 1 mile. You will spread
out quickly.
Your wondering why a mass start, Public urination and a complaint last year
to the county and sheriff , Now after we start you can stop and pull over
away from driveways or other people besides racers after you climb for 10-15
minutes.
12 miles and 1500 ft for Cat 3's 1 hr to 1:45
21 miles and 3800 feet for all others. 1:45-2:45
I am leaning towards running the Clydesdles on the 21 mile course
A well marked excellent course with 1-3 mile climbs and fast descents. last
year it was 61 and dry for 80% of the course, Can't promise above 55
degree's, but you will warm up quick and pack that front fender and a good
front tire.
Custom T-shirts for the first 125 who purchase then I am out. Black and with
white graphics with 2011 on the sleeve

This is your gateway drug to the rest of my madness. Test of Endurance 50 is
just 2 months after Mudslinger so come warm up with the Mudslinger.
Make sure if you purchase an OBRA license to save the receipt as I will have
to charge you 5.00 (non refundable) if you forget your license or receipt. I
guess some people were racing all year with no license (could not be a
mountain biker could it?)
