I'm probably setting myself up for a flame fest but
here goes.
This year the Mt. Tabor series consisted of two
four-week race series. The format was typical; Men
Masters 40+, Women 4, Women 1/2/3, Men 4/5, Men 3,
Pro/1/2.
I am wondering if there is interest in changing that
format slightly for 2003.
A few weeks ago I posted a question regarding Masters
Women and received some validation that this is an
area of interest. I have also spoken with a number of
other racers about possible alternate formats.
For 2003 I envision again having two four-week race
series as we did this year. However is there any
interest in having one of the series be a handicap
race? We could go much deeper with the prizes and
have more cash primes per group.
For example:
Women
6 laps
2:00 handicap for Women 1/2/3
Men 3/4/5
7 laps
2:30 handicap for Men 3
Men Pro/1/2/3
9 laps
3:00 handicap for Pro/1/2
Note that the handicap times are completely arbitrary
numbers for now (your suggestions welcomed). And no,
I don't know how things would be scored by the
officials (your suggestions welcomed, too!).
Thanks! ...CDR
