Monday PIR Starts April 18th!

We're excited to be kicking off another season of Monday PIR racing for
Women and Masters Men! Come out to our kickoff party this Sunday afternoon
at Laurelwood Brewing Co to mingle with Team Oregon riders, enjoy free
snacks, happy hour beer, and have a chance to win some free Monday PIR
passes! We're looking forward to seeing everyone at the races this year.

MONDAY NIGHTS - APRIL 18TH - AUGUST 29TH:
Summer bike racing for women (any age) and master men (30+) on a 2-mile
flat, closed, car-free circuit at Portland International Raceway (PIR).
Categories are separated for beginner to advanced cyclists. New racers are
welcome and encouraged‹just show up with a helmet and road bike ready to

REGISTRATION:
Registration opens at 5pm. OBRA annual or day membership required, and is
available at race.
 
ENTRY FEE:
$15 payable at registration

PASSES:
Teams - purchase your team passes now in blocks for $12/race when you buy 50
or less passes, or $10/race when you purchase 50 or more! Please contact me
or see the website for details.

Individuals - purchase your full season pass now for $200! Contact me for
details or purchase at the first races of the year.

START TIMES AND CATEGORIES:
5:45pm Weekly introduction to racing clinic
6:15pm Novice Masters Men (aged 30+)
6:20pm Novice Women (any age)
6:35pm Open Women (Category 1/2/3/4, any age)
6:43pm Masters Men 30+ (Category 1/2/3)
6:45pm Masters Men 30+ (Category 4/5)
 
COURSE/DISTANCES:
The course is a flat and wide 2-mile loop with excellent quality pavement.
The circuit is closed to all car traffic. Distance varies each week
depending on daylight, field size and weather, but will average 10-15 miles
(novice), 20-30 miles (open women), 30-55 miles (masters 1/2/3, 4/5). Exact
laps and distance will be announced at registration.
 
CLINICS:
Clinics will cover bike racing skills and strategies geared toward novices
and beginners and will be led by coaches from Upper Echelon Fitness and
other experienced racers.Clinics for Men (1st Monday of each month), and
Women (2nd Monday of each month) and open to all (all other Mondays). Cost
is $10 a clinic.

PRIZES: 
Points are accumulated weekly in each category. Prizes and gift certificates
for top points winners at the end of each month. Prizes awarded on many
nights as well!
 
Prizes are from River City Bicycles and Laurelwood Brewing Company. Monthly
winners receive a custom PIR winner¹s Jersey from Castelli!
 
RULES:
Approved helmets Required. All OBRA Racing Rules Apply. No Aero Bars
allowed! Please Note: OBRA and the organizers of this race do not provide
insurance coverage for injuries that occur at the race. The costs related to
those injuries are the responsibility of the individual participant.
