S Oregon OBRA lap counter

Hehehe. :) that will teach you to keep your head up, and ears unplugged.
If the bell doesn't ring, no last lap ! btw you can always ask fellow
racers, 'heh is this the last lap...' But sounds like good thing you
were boxed in, cause then you may have won the next-to-last lap ! (not
that that is bad thing, it usually results in a degree of notriety
and entertainment for the rest of the racers :)

I am not sure which type they have but if it is one of the ones with the multiple panels it is easy to buy a new one. They are about $450. Kenji can chime in where to send the check. The cassettes are replaceable. They are about $150. Even better would be for someone to replace the small segment of foam tape that holds the number up. That should be a few cents.

Can I help to get a new lap counter for the Southern Oregon race equipment? The left "1" does not stay up.

I screwed up my race at the Ice Breaker crit (cat4) because I was depending on the counter and not counting the laps for myself. It sure did feel like a short race at 15 laps. I was feeling pretty darn good. I got boxed in on what I thought was the final lap so I just sat up rather than try to muscle in for a possible top 10 spot. Unfortunately, the pack kept going. I didn't realize my mistake until a bell rang on the next lap for a prime and the counter showed "9" to go.

I had to accept my part and ask what I could do to make a difference next time: 1. train harder, 2. race smarter, 3. offer to help get a new counter.
