Hey Mountain bikers!
The race is up in the Cascade mountains! Petr works his butt off to get the
course ready every year. If that grapevine message is from Petr.......then
that is what you can expect. This course is my favorite because it is
(IMHO) a classic XC mountain bike Race. You have rocks, mud, roots, sand,
creeks (at times floating footsteps), tough climbs, super fun descents,
sweet-sweet single track that will keep you wide awake..........and if you
flat in the proper location the best view of Mt. Hood you could ever
imagine. I love the other races as each one is so unique. But.......if you
do BST, you have really done an XC Mountain Bike race!
That said.........I will not be there. My new lungs have been installed
yet. I am hoping for "Chainbreaker.......the race that never lets you rest"
(unless you stop and read the Oregonian at the "on trail coffee shop)! This
is what I mean. All these races are such a hoot. Support them so they do
not go away!
Have fun out there.

A response from the race promoter recieved through the grapevine of OBRA:

We have been working at Bear Springs for almost 2 weeks now since the 16th . As of tomorrow/ Thu the few sections that had snow on it are going to be shoveled down to the dirt. Yes it will be muddy but no snow so you all will be having a great race and will be riding - NO running. See you on beautiful Sunday.
