need help rebuilding my speed play X/1's

I could have guessed it was the 10x14x10 needle bearings. Note you can get
those fairly in-expensively at VXB. eggbeaters, (and others) use the same.
For a little more capacity (which is necessary on the relatively soft newer
candy pedal axle, i have went with 12 mm long brgs and with a tiny bit of
lathe work 15mm long. can also go with a full complement bearing from
enduro.
pressing the brgs out can be tricky, my need a special tool. especially on
needle brgs in a sheet metal outer ring, that bore of the fit and the od of
the axle decide the clearances. On good stuff this is controlled to nearest
thou (mil) or so.

I have an acquaintance who was threatened with legal prosecution by
Speedplay for offering bearing kits and instructions on how to rebuild their
pedals. Needless to say he is no longer offering those items or recommending
the company.
