Thanks everyone, those of you that said off by a cog....you were right, got it dialed in and shifting smooth again.

Thanks again for all the email with diagnosis!

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Sram Rival won't shift to lowest (largest cog) Help!

So I just went to re-cable my 09 Sram Rival drivetrain. Once I had the cables on I began to check shifting. Everything was great until I got to the 10th shift which is the lowest/largest cog. Once there it would shift but then seemed to slip back to the next largest cog. If you held the lever it would stay in the largest cog but then slip back when the tension was off. The shifter makes the normal shift sound but then you hear a slighlty louder click when it slips back. I have tried both higher and lower cable tension without and pull on the cable to see if that would help and it didn't. I think it was still shifting to the lowest gear before changing out cables but this bike has only seen trainer rides since the fall so can't say I have been in the lowest gear in a long time. Anyone else had this problem? I'm hoping the lever isn't toast but thats what I am fearing.

Thanks,

Gregg
